Leon "Sonny" Pratt was a regular on the California Racing Assoc. Sprint Car Racing scene in the late 50's and early 60's. Sonny had won the Main Event at Ascot Park Speedway the Saturday prior to the evening upon which he was killed, also at Ascot.
On the evening he was killed, his car vaulted over the wheel of another car that had slowed, sending Sonny into a series of flips. Sonny was dead on arrival at the Gardena Hospital.
