Janis Kay Havel Trober, 61, Hays, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at Ellis Good Samaritan Center after a long battle with numerous medical conditions.

She was born May 2, 1948, in Atwood to Hugo and Ruby (Rummel) Baumfalk.

She married Leonard Havel in October 1965. He preceded her in death in December 1986. She later married Odus Trober on July 31, 1987, in Hays. She was a respiratory therapist at Hadley Hospital and then a lab technician at Oak Park Medical Clinic.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society.

She enjoyed arts and crafts.

Survivors include her husband, Hays; a son, Corey Havel and wife, Patti, Leavenworth; two daughters, Anngela Walker and husband, Lance, and children Harlie and Colt, all of Russell, and Eden Trober, Russell; a step-son, Neal Trober and son, Austin Trober, Russell; a step-daughter, Linda O'Neal and her daughter, Charlie, Hays; two sisters, Virginia Clermont, Hays, and Deloris Pettis, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Havel; her parents; and a sister, Vonda Corder.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays KS, 67601; burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Atwood.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday, both at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association or American Stroke Association in care of the funeral home.
