The daughter of French born Gustave and Omega Levy, Lucille grew up in the Evergreen township in Avoyelles parish.
She married Dr. Jacob Mahne Bodenheimer in New Orleans on November 19, 1919.
The Bodenheimers would return to Jake's hometown area of Shreveport, Louisiana, where he entered into medical practice as a pediatrician. Dr. Bodenheimer was well-known for his passion for medical care for all children, regardless of race, status or financial constraints. He was an advocate for vaccinations for all children.
The Bodenheimers had two children, Bertha Omega and Elias M. Bodenheimer (born Sept. 3, 1920).
