16 Sept 1918: Isaac Kegerreis, widely known throughout the eastern part of Lebanon County as a notary public, Justice of the Peace, and conveyancer, died on Sunday afternoon, at one o'clock, at his home in Richland. He had been ailing for a period of two months or more, but took his bed only on Sunday a week ago. A complication of diseases was ascribed by physicians as the cause of his death. He was aged 78 years. Mr. Kegerreis was a life long resident of the Richland territory, and was variously engaged during his career. For many years in the latter part of his life, he was engaged as a wholesale and retail tobacco dealer. He served Richland borough for fifteen years as a Justice of the Peace, and since he left that office was a Notary Public. As such, he was deeply interested in the settlement of estates and similar legal work. It was in that capacity that he became widely known throughout the region. He was held in highest respect. The deceased was a member of the Richland camp of the Patriotic Order Sons of America. He leaves his wife, Susanna Kurtz, and three children, Ida, wife of Albert K. Hostetter, Lancaster; Robert B. Kegerreis, New York, and Miss Sallie, at home. Three children preceded him in death. He also leaves four sisters, Mrs. Amanda Hostetter and Miss Rebecca Kegerreis, of Landis Valley, Lancaster County, Mrs. Samuel Wagner, Lancaster, and Miss Racheal Kegerreis, Hershey.
