Daughter of Dr. Joseph O and Margaret (Brown) McElroy. On August 16, 1898, Leila married Joseph Bigger Kithcart. She and Joseph lived in Steubenville, Ohio where he was Justice of the Peace. He died in March 1903 at the age of 28. Leila never remarried. She was a teacher in Steubenville for many years before moving to Phoenix, Arizona to live with her sister, Jennie McElroy Moore.
