DEERSFIELD BEACH, Fla. - Ruth C. Ehalt, 80, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the Chelsea in Warren, N.J.
Mrs. Ehalt was born in East Liverpool, and had lived in Mansfield, Ohio, before moving to Deerfield Beach, Fla., many years ago.
Mrs. Ehalt received her Master's Degree from Kent State. Ruth's career spanned 39 years of involvement with children with special needs as a teacher and eventually supervisor of teachers. In her work, she always sought new ways of applying different techniques to achieve the greatest out of her students. She dedicated her career to developing approaches to teaching, so that students would gain the most.
Mrs. Ehalt was a member of the Woodbrook Country Club in Mansfield, Ohio, and the Mansfield Federation of Women.
She enjoyed golf, bridge and was an avid reader.
Ruth was predeceased by her second husband, Robert Ehalt; her first husband, Norman Weaver; her sisters, Ila Mae Johnston, Betty Veselick, Bernice Arter and Katherine McCall; and her brother, Jack Chamberlin.
Mrs. Ehalt is survived by her sister, Marian Dietz, and nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews located throughout the United States.
A memorial service and burial will be held on May 8, 2010, at The Longs Run Presbyterian Church, Calcutta.
