Mary J. Wyly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Meffard, was born in Erath county, Texas, May 14, 1878, died at Wellington, Texas, February 8, 1914, making her stay on earth 35 years, 9 months, 25 days. She was married to Fred Wyly, May 17, 1891. To this union were born eleven children. She was a loving wife and mother and leaves a
husband and ten children to mourn her death, besides a mother, five brothers, two sisters and a host of relatives and friends. She was converted about the age of fifteen and united with the Missionary
Baptist church of Seldon, Texas, and lived a devoted Christian
life and to know her was to love her. She bore her sufferings
with much patience, always looking to Jesus who was the author and finisher of her faith.
