Thomas was the son of Frank Pitrowsky and Hazel Agin. In 1948 he married Grace Moscarello; they had no children. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was also a retired supervisor at the state Justice Complex and a former manager of quality control at Atlantic Products. Thomas died at the age of 70.
