Henry Fuest, a well known resident of Bennington died Monday evening, March 18th, at 10 o'clock at the Providence Retreat, Buffalo, where he was taken for treatment two weeks previous. He was a Civil War veteran and a member of the R. P. Taylor Post, G.A.R., of Attica village, and was 68 years old. The funeral services were held last Thursday morning at 10 o'clock from the Catholic Church in East Bennington, and interment took place in the cemetery near the church. Mr. Fuest is survived by his wife and eight children, three sons and five daughters. The children are: Lawrence and Henry Fuest, Jr., Mrs. Gregory Giese, and Miss Margaret Fuest of Bennington; Frank E. Fuest of East Aurora; Mrs. Kate Shaw of Morris, Mich., Mrs. Charles Weyand of Erie, Pa., and Mrs. Fred Muth of Attica. A daughter, Mrs. Frank Schlick died in 1899.
Note: Kate Fuest married Wesley Shaw. They lived in Monroe County, Michigan. They had one daughter Clara (1896-1983)
