In 1922, during the height of the oil boom, Mr. Rinks moved to South Bend with his family. Later that year, the family returned to Ranger so he could finish school. In 1929, the family moved to Graham to work for the Christi Brothers. Mr. Rinks was a veteran of the US Air Force. After World War II, he returned to Graham and worked for Nash Gasoline Refinery at South Bend. He was employed by Schlumberger Well Services for 20 years. In 1968, he bought the distributorship and operated the business until his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Graham.
Survived by one daughter - Jane Ann Brandt; one son - John Rinks; one brother - Jim Williams; three grandchildren.
Mr. Rinks attended Ranger High school. He entered the Army Air Force in 1942 and trained at Fort Worth Air Filed. He served in the American Theater. Mr. Rinks was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon and American Theater Ribbon. He was discharged in 1946.
