Mrs. Hicks died June 17, 2008, at Grenada Lake Medical Center. She was born Sept. 30, 1922, to the late John and Emily Edwards.
Mrs. Hicks was a member of the First Assembly of God in Grenada and a retired inspector with Pennaco Hosiery Mill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry V. Hicks; a brother, A. Edwards; a sister, Lucille Crouch; and a grandson, Glenn Shannon Hicks.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil Leon Hicks of Grenada; a daughter, Rose Marie Pilkington of Mayo, Fla.; two sons, Benny Hicks and James Hicks, both of Grenada; two sisters, Rebecca Lancaster of Houston, Miss. and Peggy Coppock of Memphis; a brother, Douglas Edwards of Byhalia, Miss.; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
National Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
