Walter [sic] Roy 'Speedy' Goodspeed, 56, of 101 S. Pine in Borger, died Sunday evening at St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.

He was a foreman for Phillips and a lifetime resident of the Borger area.

He is survived by a wife, Ruby Goodspeed of Borger; two daughters, Dianna Wheeler of Borger and Debbie DeForrest of Lawton, Oklahoma; one son, Bodie Goodspeed of Stinnett; three brothers, Irvin Goodspeed of Gainsville, Lyle Goodspeed of Borger and Travis Goodspeed of San Antonio; one sister, Mavis Hale of Magnolia, Ark.; and three grandchildren.

Services for Walton Roy "Speedy" Goodspeed were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Alexander Chapel of Memories.

Amos Meador, Pastor Emeritus of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiated. Burial was in Westlawn Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers were Roy Tinker, Delmer Baldwin, Buddy Pace, Joe Nivens, Sam Bearden and Bill Hamilton.

Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Ray Howard, J.W. Edwards, Archie Bearden and Joe Shelton.
