He married Rosalie Elizabeth Sanders in 1959 in Hanover, Pennsylvania. They moved to Bradenton, FL in 1972 with 6 children (7 total after 1973) where James started a family-run produce company which still operates to this day.
He is survived by his wife Rosalie, his children Wanda Nivens, Barbara Johnson, John Yingling, Deborah Schutze, Carol Smith, James Yingling Jr and Richard Yingling. Also surviving are four of his siblings, Jay A Yingling, William E Yingling, Sandra Amato and Wendell Yingling as well as 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Burial location is the new Mausoleum Crypt - last building (south) left side - 2nd row up/center
