Race, born November 23, 1990 in Laguna Beach, Calif., was the beloved son of Eric and Karie Salazar of Folsom. He graduated from Folsom High School in 2009 and was currently enrolled at UNLV, majoring in Landscape Architecture. Race was an excellent student, athlete and talented musician. He enjoyed playing both the violin and guitar, entertaining family and friends as well as a good game of Texas Hold'em.
Race is survived by his mother and father Karie and Eric; brother Miles of Hawaii; maternal grandparents Marilyn and Bruce Rakow; paternal grandmother Amanda Salazar; aunts and uncles Kim and Don Trylovich, Denise Salazar, Lisa and Alan Dowell, Rick Salazar and Tevis; cousins Nicholas, Danitza and Tori Trylovich, Nelson and Cody Dowell.
A celebration of Race's life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Rolling Hills Christian Church, 800 White Rock Road in El Dorado Hills. Visitation will be on Thursday evening, March 4, 2010 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Green Valley Mortuary, 3004 Alexandrite Road, Rescue, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Race Salazar's Memorial Fund at the time of the memorial service.
