Agnes married Ebenzer S Beatty on September 2, 1847 in Butler, Butler Co., PA.

They had 9 children they named: Margaret Melvina, Samuel Ralph, Mary Geneva, Viola Jane, Henry Bruce, Ebernezer Calvin, John Knox, Laura Agnes and Leroy Burk Beatty.

Her husband, Ebenzer, taught school in Butler County from 1845 to 1851. He was a cattle broker until 1865 before the advent of railroads in this part of the State. The cattle were bought in Western Pennsylvania and driven over the mountains and sold in New York City and Philadelphia.

At the close of the war he removed from Butler to Venango County and during the oil excitement in this immediate vicinity was engaged in the mercantile business, conducting a store at the old Humboldt refinery near Plumer (Venango Co., PA) and later removed to the Union farm on Cherry run, where his business was very successful.

With the decadence of that part of the oil field, he removed in 1876 to Rouseville (Venango Co., PA) where he lived for many years and gave all of his time and attention to the oil producing business.
