Betty JoAnn Thurman, age 72, passed away January 16, 2010 in Denison, Texas. She was born August 26, 1937 in Milo, MO. to Carl & Nadine Grant Chadd. She married Leroy Thurman in 1956 who preceded her in death in 1980. Mrs. Thurman is survived by one daughter, Sherrie Thurman, Joplin MO. and one son, David Thurman, Pottsboro, Texas; one brother, Donald Leroy Chadd, Kansas City, MO. three sisters Helen Henson, Tennessee, Karen Brewer, Jasper, MO. and Vicki Stokes, Carthage, MO.. She is also survived by two grandchildren. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at American Funeral Services, 4312 W. Crawford St., Denison, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Bob Stevens. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at American Funeral Services in Denison. Pallbearers serving are Charlie Pearson, Toby Fritts, Mark Rowland, Lanny Green, Bo Price and Duke Wilson.
