Mr Flenniken died of natural causes Jan 04 1999 at his home. He was born Oct 13 1915 in California to Robert and Edna "Colcord" Flenniken.
He worked with WPA, on Cooley Dam, and in shipyards in Long Beach. He moved to Santa Maria in 1944, worked for Santa Maria Drilling, Engle & Gray in 1957, Jerry Dunn and Webb Cranes, and was a member of Local 12 of the Operating Engineers Union from Jan 04 1958 until the present. Mr. Flenniken was known statewide for his work with wire rope, making chokers and splicing. He retired in 1977 and worked as a consultant for CWB Cranes. He was a member of Hesperian Masonic Lodge #264 F&AM since Oct 21 1946, a member of Cal Shasta Club since 1959, and a member of Lake Nacimento where he worked on roads and barbecues.
Mr. Flenniken was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Flenniken, May 14 1993, daughter Arleen Rae Stanley Feb 17 1998, brother Ralph Flenniken, and sister Adah Milton."
