Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan, with the Rev. Rebecca Ingram officiating. Visitation will be from 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday and burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials are suggested to the Sullivan First Christian Church or the Sullivan Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Dora was born November 22, 1915 in Lovington, IL, the daughter of Omer and Zola (Dixon) Davis. She was a longstanding member of the First Christian Church in Sullivan. She graduated in 1933 from Arthur High School, Arthur, IL, where she was a drum majorette her senior year. She also went to the World's Fair in Chicago, IL that year with the band. She married Daile M. Rozene on November 22, 1936 in Bethany, IL and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1996.
Dora was a farmer's wife, wonderful mother and grandmother, homemaker and a great cook! She was an avid bowler for many years where she held various offices and went to many state and national tournaments. She also loved playing bridge and was a member of a club for many years. She enjoyed decorating her home, entertaining and working in the flowers in her yard. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting events.
She is survived by her daughters; Kay (Jerry) Ward of Bethany and Pat (Norville) Williams of Rockton, IL; grandchildren, Dr. Terry (Chris) Ward of Mattoon, IL, Bob (Lisa) Williams of Roscoe, IL, and Dr. Greg (Susan) Williams of Olympia, Washington; great grandchildren, Brett and Lindsey Ward, Taylor and Paige Williams, Katie and Henry Williams; great-great-granddaughter, Marlie Ward; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Hersel Davis.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sullivan Health Care Center for the love and excellent care given to Mother the past seven years as well as Lincolnland Hospice.
She was a devoted and much loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.
