Esther Marie Helm, 99, of rural Spring Valley died at 4:30 p.m. March 2, 2010, in St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hollowayville United Church of Christ. Pastor Mike Slutz will officiate. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in the church. Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Dec. 6, 1910, in Peru to John and Bertha (Boers) Fiedler. She married Howard Helm on Aug. 19, 1931, in the Hollowayville E&R Church.
Mrs. Helm was a member of Hollowayville United Church of Christ and the Ladies Aid of the church, St. Margaret's Hospital Auxiliary and Ladd NOA Fun Food Friend Group.
Survivors are one daughter, Donna Hamrick of rural Spring Valley; two grandsons, Paul (Trina) Hamrick of Spring Valley and William (Cleo) Hamrick of Florida; and one great-grandson, Chad Hamrick of Spring Valley.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 18, 1992; two sons in infancy and one sister, Edith Brooks.
