Della was born in Cañon City on Nov. 16, 1932, to Ben and Rose (Lippis) DiRito, she was blessed with seven brothers and sisters, whom she shared the early part of her life with in Cañon City.
She married Earl Bashford on June 6, 1953. They resided most of their lives in Arvada. They were blessed with 10 beautiful children and had been married for 56 years. From those 10 children, there are 37 grandchildren.
Della is survived by her husband, Earl, and the following children; Ben and Geraldine Bashford, Joe and Lisa Bashford, Pat and Jennie Bashford, Bill and Patty Bashford, Lori and Kalon Miller, Julie and Scott Collins, Bob and Jamie Bashford, Jenny and James Valdez, Carolyn Bashford and Charles and Stephanie Bashford.
Also surviving are brothers Earl (Mary Lou) DiRito, Arthur DiRito, Richard (Helen) DiRito, sisters Evelyn (Dominic) Moschetti, Geraldine (Larry) Palen, sister-in-laws, Vita DiRito and Lettie DiRito.
Also many nieces and nephews and several cousins. Della was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Bennie and Bobby DiRito, sister-in-law, Dolores DiRito and nephew Jeffrey DiRito.
Services are to be in Arvada. St. Anne's Catholic Church on Wednesday with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday. Interment will follow at Arvada cemetery.
Services under the direction of Horan and McConaty Mortuary at 3020 Federal Blvd., Denver, CO, 80211.
Condolences may be sent to the Mortuary under Della Bashford or donations may be sent to the Alzheimers Foundation in Della's name, or to St. Anne's Parish Shrine.
Della's passion will have a huge void in this world and all of our lives. She was loved by all for her kind, loving, caring and giving ways and wonderful smile and her unending love for her family.
