w/o Homer Harvey Snyder
Walked away from nursing home in Salem Ohio at age 90 as she yearned to be back on family farm in New Waterford Ohio.
Ray Mollenkopf was her guardian. He is Ray Earl Mollenkopf s/o her sister Margarey Amanda Rupert and Charles Mollenkopf.
She attempted to leave this Leetonia nursing home several times to "go back home" when finally arrangements were made by her guardian for her to do just that. A classified ad was placed in the Youngstown Vindicator for someone to move in to old farmhouse and take care of her. Mrs and Mrs William Burnett did just that and Hattie resumed her farm life once again until her end.
Newspaper clippings provided by Joseph Harrold 2008. Joseph Harrold a s/o Ralph Edward Harrold grew up in this area.
The farm she yearned to live on forever was located on Macklin Road. It once belonged to her father John Rupert, and before that her grandfather. It still stands on Macklin Rd.
