Funeral services for Garland Isam [sic] Easterling, 78, of Route 4, Morton, were held January 25, 2 p. m. from the Beulah Baptist Church. Rev. James Fortner officiated, assisted by Rev. Cecil Pomphrey. Interment was in the church cemetery, with Ott and Lee Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Easterling had been hospitalized in Scott County Hospital prior to his death. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Piney Grove Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Elmina Easterling of Rt. 4, Morton; five daughters, Mrs. Larkin Huff of Polkville, Mrs. Ray Alford, Mrs. Oscar Daniels and Mrs. Charlie Gray, all of Jackson, and Mrs. Chester McCallister of Richmond, California; four sons, Clifton and Homer of Polkville, Horace of Morton, and Ward Easterling of Omaha, Neb.; twenty one grandchildren, nineteen great grand-children; three sisters; Mrs. Nannie Williams of Magee, Mrs. Cannie Westbrook of Pelahatchie, and Mrs. Mary Phillips of Alexandria, La.; and one brother, Abe Easterling of Monroe La.
