Benjamin came to Wisconsin before 1850 He met and married Mary Olive Cady Mar 12, 1854 in Concord, WI. They had children: Henrietta Myrtle Feb 17, 1853, who married Prescott Dorr, Mary Ellen Dec 16, 1854, who married Francis Herring, James Stratton Sep 16, 1859, who married Elimina Porter, and Wm Elwin June 29, 1861

BLOWERS-Died in the U.S. Hospital, Point Lookout, Benj. S. Blowers.

In Feb., 1862, he enlisted in the 19th Reg. Wis. Vol., serving faithfully until the battles on the James River, when disabled by over exertion, he was carried to the rear, and lingered until July 28, 1864, when he peacefully and triumphantly fell asleep in Jesus." His Chaplain writes, "A number of years of earnest, Christian life, as well as the pure religious spirit, manifest in all his letters from the army, would give evidence of this." Benjamin and Wesley were converted and joined the M.E. Church in early youth.
