In 1845 Rebecca married William Patton Braham in Butler, Pennsylvania. Between 1846 and 1867 they had 4 boys and 7 girls.

In the order of their births they were named: Philip Melanethon, Mary Ann, Deborah Jane, Samuel Luther, Sarah Jemima, Hannah IsaBelle, Nancy Rebecca, Margaret Angenetta, William Patton, Charles Sumner and Ida Mae "Birdie" Braham.

Her husband, William, was a rigid abolitionist and for many years he served as an Elder in the Reformed Presbyterian Church.

Rebecca was raised in a farm family so she knew how to keep things in the family going smoothly while her husband was away serving in the State Legistature, driving cattle to New York State or simply away dealing with his 1000 acres of oil and coal real estate.
