Mrs Carter worked for 30 years or more to compile a genealogy of the Kinard family of Barnwell district. It was published in 1996, 'Kinard Family of Barnwell District 1789-1996,' is over 800 pages long, and is essential to anyone tracing their Kinard family connections of lower SC.
My copy is open in front of me as I type this. I find it ironic and sad that she appears on only 2 family trees, one of them mine, and her memorial is so bare bones (no disrespect intended; her death seems to have been unnoticed by anyone). I think it would have mattered a lot to her to have her accomplishment noted.
