Carl Bride Austin, 88, of Doniphan died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at his residence.
Mr. Austin was born Aug. 22, 1915, in Arkansas. He had lived in Poplar Bluff for 29 years. He was a veteran of World War II and a foreman for Oil Field Trucking in California.
On Feb. 1, 1935, he married Margaret Lynch in Okmulgee, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Albert Austin of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Robert Austin, of Penrose, Colo.; one daughter, Sue Trotter of Big Sandy, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Sunday at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A graveside service was held Sunday at the Doniphan Cemetery with Jimmy Gilbert officiating.
