Obituary from Schuyler, Nebraska Sun Newspaper, in section entitled Richland Notes:

Following an illness of six weeks duration, Albert F. Rominger, 77, passed away at his home Tuesday morning at 3 o’clock. His death was due to euremic poisoning following a paralytic stroke at the beginning of his illness.

Mr. Rominger was born in Hopt (sic), Ind., on January 17th, 1858. At the age of six he and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rominger, and the other members of the family moved to Marshalltown, Ia., where they resided for seven years and then moved to Clarkson, Nebr., where they located on a farm three miles south of town. On December 25, 1893, he was united in marriage with Miss Ida M. Church at Schuyler. From that time until 1913, they spent the years on several farms in Colfax County, after which they moved to Schuyler where they resided for remaining years, except for a few months which they spent in Richland and on a farm near Rogers. In March, Mr. and Mrs. Rominger returned to Richland to live in their newly erected home. He was a member of the militia, Company K. An interesting event in his life was in 1892 when he and other members of his company were sent to Gordon, Nebr., to quiet an Indian uprising. Only 42 members of this Company are living, and Andrew Blust, of Richland is the only surviving Colfax county man.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the First Methodist church in Schuyler, with Rev. L. R. McGaughey officiating. Burial was made in Zaullaman (sic) cemetery ten miles northwest of Schuyler, beside the grave of his father. Surviving relatives are: his widow and four daughters and one son. Miss Edna B. Griffin of Chicago, Miss Jessamine Rominger of Fremont, O., Mrs. Emil Saalfeld of Richland, Mrs. Gertrude McGuighan of Omaha, and Donald Rominger; one half-brother Thomas Rominger of Waterloo, Ia., three half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Hanlon of Waterloo, Ia., Mrs. Tena Cronk of Billings, Mo., and Mrs. Ida Winthrow of Waterloo, Ia., and other sister Miss Annie Rominger of Omaha and a granddaughter, Ruth Schrum.
