Robert Gerald Allen was the son of Cordia Allen and Sarah Elizabeth Ann Shockey. He was first laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii. Some years after the war, his remains were repatriated for burial at his hometown in Pipe Creek Cemetery in Converse, Miami County, Indiana. His father had died the year before him, in 1940, and Robert was laid next to him.
