MYRA DAVIDSON, 93, FORMER TELEGRAPH AGENT
*** KOOSKIA - Myra A. Davidson, a former telegraph agent and station operatopr for the Northern Pacific Railroad, died of complicatios following surgery for cancer Friday at St. Joseph's Hospitol at Lewiston. She was 93.
** She and her husaband, Glenn F. Davidson, met when they both were telegraph operators for the railroad - she stationed at Kendrick and he at Lewiston. They courted over the wires and he often would send her a rose via the train conductor.
** They were married Aug. 27,1910, by the mayor of Spokane. They held posts with the railroad at Lewiston, Trout Creek, Mont., Kootenai and Lenore before moving to Stites in 1923. He ran the railroad station there until retiring in 1959.
** The Davidsons moved to Kooskia in 1959, and he died Jan. 24,1973. She had lived there until her death.
** She was born Feb. 1,1892, at Amery, Wis., to Manfred and Anna Dale Smith. When she was a young girl, the family moved to Cheney, Wash., and later to North Lapwai.
** She began working for Northern Pacific after graduating from Lewiston Normal School, now Lewis-Clark State College at Lewiston.
** Mrs. Davidson was a member of The Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years and served as a past worthy matron of the oganization. She was a member of The Daughters of the Nile.
** She also was active in the Valley Garden Club and senior citizens functions in the Kooskia area.
** Survivors include two daughters, June Armour of Lewiston and Shirley George of Astoria, Ore.; a son, Gordon Davidson of Orinda, Calif.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one gr-gr-grandchild.
** Visitation will be Monday from 10:a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Trenary Funeral Chapel at Kooskia. Burial will follow at 3:00p.m. at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens at Lewiston.
** The family suggests memorials to the Shriner Hospitol for Crippled Children at Spokane.
