George Counts Passes Away at His Home in Bamberg
Bamberg, Jan 9 [1919] -- Curry Counts died Tuesday night at his home in this city. Mr Counts had been an invalid for life, but a few weeks ago he suffered a severe attack of illness from which he never recovered and his death was not unexpected by his relatives and friends. The remains were interred Wednesday afternoon at Restland Cemetery, the Rev George P White, pastor of the Baptist Church, conducting the services.
Although an invalid and almost helpless, Mr Counts was one of the most industrious citizens of Bamberg and successfully conducted a business for himself. Up to his fatal illness he was a familiar figure on the streets.
Mr Counts was the son of the late George Counts and Mrs S H Counts, who survives him. He is also survived by one sister, Miss Pearl Counts. He was 34 years of age and with the excception of four years spent in Spartanburg, he had lived in Bamberg all of his life.
