Anna Maria Fink was the daughter of Sebastian Fink and Anna Mary Hake Fink. Her maternal grandparents were Andrew Hake Sr. and Anna Maria Wintermeyer Hake.

Anna married David Martin Cocklin on 29 January 1831. David was born on 25 March 1802 in Springdale Farm, Allen Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania and died on 30 September 1883 in Lawrence, Kansas. Oak Hill Cemetery records indicate that Mary Cocklin was interred on 14 February 1873.

In 1850 David M. and Mary Cocklin were living in Franklin, York County. In 1860 David and Anna were living in Carlisle, Cumberland County, with their daughter Julia and their son Samuel. David is repairing clocks, Julia is a taloress and Samuel is an apprentice to a carpenter.
