BARTLE P. WILLADSON
Bartle P. Willadson, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Willads Willadson, was born July 26, 1886, in Council Bluffs, Iowa and departed this life at his farm home near Chariton, Saturday, May 15, 1948, at the age of 61 years, ten months and 19 days, after an illness of several months. His death was a shock to his loved ones and all who knew him.
Most of his boyhood days were spent in Mills and Pottawattamie counties. In 1908 he and his parents moved to New Virginia, Warren county, Iowa, where they resided for four years.
In the spring of 1913 he was married to Miss Nellie Baker, of Osceola, Iowa. Two children were born to this union, one son, Max Eugene, and one baby daughter, who preceded him in death. His parents also preceded him in death.
With the exception of four years spent in Minnesota, his entire life was spent in Iowa. He united with the Christian church at Osceola under the ministry of Rev. C. Cole.
He and his family moved to his farm, east of Chariton in 1944, where he was living at the time of his death.
In addition to the widow and son, he is survived by the following sisters and brothers, Mrs. Mae Martens and Mrs. Clara Martens, of Wyoming; Miss Ruth Willadson, of Hallock, Minn.; Willis, of Bovey, Minn.; M. O., of Orleans, Minn.; Enevol and Edwin, of Osage, Wyo.; and one grandson; and a large circle of friends.
His was of a genial and sunny disposition and he always looked on the bright side of life.
Funeral services were conducted at the Miley funeral home Tuesday, May 18, at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. J. T. Bloom, of the Christian church, officiating. Burial was made in the Chariton cemetery.
