Joyce grew up in Charlotte and graduated from Meredith College. She worked for the American Psychological Association for many years in Washington, D.C. Over the years, she lived in England, Florida and California and then moved to Mount Airy.
She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jerry Coram Sr.; a niece and her husband, Wendy and Dean Spainhour; a nephew, Jerry Coram Jr.; two great-nieces, Madison Spainhour and Anna Coram; and three great-nephews, Tripp Spainhour, J.B. and Julius Coram.
There will be a family graveside service at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Alzheimer Foundation of your choice.
