SPRINGFIELD - Helen M. Shedlebower, 82, a lifelong resident of Springfield, went home to be with the Lord on Monday March 1, 2010.
She was born September 19, 1927, the daughter of Athel E. and Hazel Cooper Emerick. She married Earl K. Shedlebower in Springfield August 12, 1956; and he preceded her in death October 19, 2009.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Norman.
Helen was a homemaker and early in her career she worked at Horace Mann Company. She was a member of the Lincoln Land Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda Shedlebower; her son, Mark (wife Dawn) Shedlebower; two grandchildren, Caitlin and Keith Shedlebower; her brother, Eugene (wife, Margaret) Emerick, all of Springfield. There are also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., where visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday March 4, 2010, and where funeral services will be on Friday March 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Rod Mattoon officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
