Funeral services for William Chleo Beckham, 55, a native of Delta County, who died last Sunday at 5PM at the Veterans Hospital in McKinney, after two months illness, was held Tuesday at 2 PM at the Lake Creek Methodist Church, with the pastor, the Rev. John Walker, officiating. McDonald Funeral Home of Cooper made internment in the Lake Creek Cemetery. A son of Alpheus and Essie Smith Beckham, he was born near Enloe on Oct, 26, 1908. He saw active service in World War II. He formerly resided in Cooper, but was a resident of Paris at the time of his death. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Essie Beckham, now of Paris; one daughter, Mrs. David Roling of Longview; one sister, Mrs. Hobert C. Young of Lake Creek and two grandsons, Tony and Tommy Roling of Longview. Serving as bearers were Roy Skeen, Bernie Burns, Harry Nimmo, J.P. Roling, Goebel Templeton and Wendell Alley.
