Hester Mae (Pearce) Johnson, 86, of Bradford, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in Searcy. She was born November 7, 1928 in Bradford to the late George Henry and Rilla Pearl (McMullen) Pearce.
She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bradford. Mrs. Johnson was a loving mother and grandmother. Grandma Hess loved and spoiled her grandchildren. She was generous to a fault with them and supported them emotionally throughout their lives.
She is survived by her three children, Jefferey Lee Johnson (Betty Sue), Matthew Pearce Johnson (Virginia Anne) and Donna Rae (Johnson) Allen (Patrick Wayne); many spoiled grandchildren, Leann Johnson, Robert Clay Johnson, Jeremiah Chad Johnson, Cynthia Brooke Johnson, Christiane Elspeth Hendricks, George Hudson Hendricks, Kelly Barnheart, Scott Millsaps, Amy Jewel Hollis, Brad Jewell, Brandon and Caroline Groce, Kurt Anthony Allen and Sarah Allen; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Cornealius, Anne Lawson, Faye Wells and Lutie Livingston; sister-in-law, Mary Sue Winchester; brother-in-law, Carl Burrus; multitude of beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ralph Johnson; siblings, Mary Rilla Hanson, George Henry Pearce, Jr., Marge House and Andrew Jackson Pearce.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Services will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Bradford with Rev. Bill Mills and Tom Winningham officiating. Interment will follow in the Heard Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob – Judsonia.
