Funeral services for Frankie Joe Stevens, 52, of Vivian were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Line Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. H. D. Byrd and Rev. Hershel Wall officiating. Burial was in the Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery in Abilene, Texas under the direction of McGuire Funeral Home of Vivian.

Stevens, a native of Abilene, was a retired scale mechanic was a member of Line Creek Baptist Church.

He was an Air Force Veteran of WWII and Korea and was active in the Veterans of Foreign War, serving as commander of the Vivian Post 4478 for two years and as district commander for a year.

Survivors include his widow, Ola Mae Stevens of Vivian; his mother and step-farther, Mr. & Mrs. Earl Hill of Abilene; two sons, Frankie J. Stevens of Rodessa and Billy Joe Stevens of Vivian; two daughters, Ann Smith of Shreveport and Debbie Kay Stevens of Rodessa; Clara Stevens of Hawley, Texas and Ollie Estinora of Salt Lake City; a brother Weldon Stevens of Landon, Wyo. and four grandchildren.
