SYLVESTER N. ALGER Sylvester N. Alger, 63, of 124 Filmore St., Petersburg, died unexpectedly yesterday in the U, S, Army Hospital Fort Lee.
Mr. Alger was a native of Rileysville and a resident of this vicinity since 1941, and was an instructor at Fort Lee.
He was a veteran of both world wars, and was a member of Colonial Heights Post 284 American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elva Foster Alger; one daughter. Mrs. Virginia Quiche, of Colonial Heights; one son, Sylvester N. Alger .Jr., of Brussels, Belgium and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will he held Sunday at 4:30 p. m. in the chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, Colonial Heights.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Monday at 1:30 p. m. (EDT).
The family will receive friends at the borne of Mrs. Virginia Quicke, 3601 East Ave., Colonial Heights.
