She was born in Salem, daughter of the late Walter Lyle and Edith D. (Brown) Abbot.
She was a member of the Grace Church and its Flower Committee, the Thread and Needle Society and the Salem Female Charitable Association.
Mrs. Thomas worked for more than 25 years for the Salem Old Fashioned Candies.
Besides her husband, she leaves three sisters, Mrs. Pitt (Anne) Welland of Sagle, Idaho, Miss Edith Abbot of Marblehead and Mrs. Edwin (Caroline) Zimmerman of Washington, D.C.; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Grace Church in Salem, (Episcopal).
