John Berchtold
Columbiana, Ohio-Services were held Oct. 22 at the Warrick Funeral Home, Columbiana, for John Berchtold, 71, of 268 S. Elm st. who died of complications Oct. 19 in Salem Community Hospital. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery, New Castle.

He was born in New Brighton, Pa. Dec. 29, 1901 to the late John R. and Mary Rosemund Berchtold. He resided in Beaver Falls before moving to Columbiana. He was retired from the Production Foundry of Columbiana and the United Engineering Co. of Youngstown and was a contract painter in the Columbiana area.

Mr. Berchtold was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and a 35-year member of IOOF Lodge 410.

He is survived by his wife, the former Gertrude Gibson whom he married Jan. 4, 1923; a daughter, Mrs. Alan D. (Evelyn) Camp of Cleveland; four sisters, Mrs. W.D. Young and Miss Edith Berchtold, both of Columbiana, Mrs. Anna DeWalt of Gibsonia, Pa. and Miss Eleanor Berchtold of Bogata, South America; a brother Frank of New Brighton and three grandchildren.
