Peter Lockwood was the son of Elipahlet Lockwood and Mary (Gold) Lockwood. He was born March 16, 1710-1711 in Norwalk, Conecticut, and died in 1775, in Danbury, Connecticut. Deacon Lockwood was a Represetative from Norwalk six times between the years 1755 and 1764, and he was a Deacon before he moved to Danbury. He marrried three times:

Marriage 1: Abigail Hawley was the daughter of the Rev. Thomas Hawley, who married about 1711, Abigail Gold, daughter of Col. Nathen Gold and Hannah Talcott. Abigail Gold was born February 1687 and died April 17, 1749. Rev. Thomas Hawley died September 17, 1738. Abigail Hawley, of Norwalk Connecticut, born January 1, 1715-16, died June 6, 1749, married Peter Lockwood, of Norwalk on September 8,1737. The children of this marriage were:
