Ruby Jewell Donahue, age 82, former resident of 38 Flint St., Shelby died Friday February 26, 2010 in Crestwood Care Center, Shelby.

Born August 4, 1927 in Bertis, Kentucky to Thomas J. and Spicie E. (Parker) Hunter, she had been a Shelby resident since 1953 . Jewell enjoyed fishing & hunting with her husband and also was an artist who loved to paint and draw.

Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Sue Donahue of Shelby; three grandchildren, Scott and Karen Donahue of Crestline; Jason Donahue of Shelby; and Amanda (Sean) Porreca of Brookfield, CT; five great grandchildren, Emily, Sidney and Luke Donahue, William and Jack Porreca; one sister and brother-in-law, Emojean and Carl Tackett of Galion; one brother and sister-in-law, Willis (Ricki) Hunter of Kentucky.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Donahue in 2000, and her son, Larry A. Donahue in 2003; two sisters, Bertha Bowser and Pearl Cox; two brothers, Willard and Frank Hunter.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 3, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby . Otto Swogger will officiate with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lexington. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-7:30 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
