Doris Genevieve Hilliards, 76, of Stanley passed away Saturday, July 22, 2006, at her home.
Miss Hilliards was born April 23, 1930, in Page County and was the daughter of the late Eddie W. and Edith M. Hilliards.Miss Hilliards was a loving mother and leaves behind three daughters, Nancy Atkins and husband Woodrow Atkins of Stanley, Diane Beebe and Husband Ron Beebe of Shenandoah and Carolyn Hilliards and Steve Vaughn of Luray and three sons, Butch Hilliards of Stanley, Roy Hilliards and wife Debbie Hilliards of Luray and Larry Hilliards and wife Evon Hilliards of Stanley.
She has one surviving sister, Maudie Tappy of Shenandoah and three brothers, Carson Hilliards of Shenandoah and Charles and Arley Hilliards, both of Stanley.
She was a wonderful grandmother to 12 grandchildren, Teddy Atkins of Stanley, Tom Triggs of Shenandoah, Billy Triggs of Stanley, Chasity Housden of Luray, Steve Gray of Luray, Christie Donovan of Stanley, Nathan Beahm of Luray, Derrick Hilliards of Stanley, Holly Hilliards of Stanley, Heather Hilliards of Luray, Brandon Hilliards of Luray and Michael Hilliards of Stanley and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Judd and Virginia Freeze; and two brothers, Isaac 'Jaybird' and Jake Hilliards.
Burial was in the family cemetery near Leake's Chapel Church in Stanley.
