Alta Ellen Oliver, the daughter of John and Dora McClure Albert, was born on a farm in Republic county, KS on March 23, 1900. She died Sept 16, 1993 at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, KS at the age of 93 years.
Alta grew up in the Glen Elder area and attended Lone Hill County School. On May 12, 1918 Alta was united in marriage with Thomas M Oliver and one sone, LsVerne Dale was born to the union on Aug 19, 1920. LaVerne passed away May 20, 1935.
Alta and Tom lived on a farm four miles northwest of Glen Elder for many years, and in 1960 they moved to Cawker City. They were privileged to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1968 in the new home they had recently purchased. Tom Oliver passed away Dec 15, 1970 and Alta continued to make her home in Cawker City until poor health forced her to move to a nursing home.
Survivors include a sister, Elsie Noble. In addition to her husband and son, Alta was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, John Albert, JR and a sister Daisy Hauptli.
