BENTON, LA - Services for Martha Lois Akin Susla will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel with Father Pike Thomas, pastor of St. Jude Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.
Mrs. Susla was born August 17, 1926 in Sibley, LA to William Roy and Mattie Tillman Akin and died February 26, 2010 in Bossier City, LA. She was a member of the Benton Garden Club and a retired merchandise clerk for AT&T.
Her former husband, Al Susla, special companion, Jerome Abrams and her parents preceded Martha in death.
She is survived by her children, Beverly Susla Stevens and husband Barry of Benton, James Michael Susla and wife Martha of Bossier City, Ronald Alan Susla and wife Mica of Benton; sister, Mary Ghena Akin Byrd of Tulsa, OK; brother, William "Buddy" Akin of Simsboro, LA; grandchildren, Regan Ann Thrasher and husband Drew, Nicole Rochelle Stevens, Matthew Alan Susla, Steven Christopher Susla and two great-grandchildren.
Honoring Mrs. Susla as pallbearers will be Don Ashley, Tom Prakop, Bob Banker, James Susla, Matt Susla and Steve Susla.
