Ausby Washington Bailey, 80, of Stanley, died on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, at Page Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 17, 1925 in Shenandoah and was a son of the late Charlie and Vinda D. Meadows Bailey.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the New Market Eagles 4264.
On Sept. 4, 1947, he married the former Frances Lucille Lucas, who died on Jan. 14, 1994.
He is survived by two sons, Larry Wayne and Gary Allen Bailey, both of Stanley; a brother, Clarence S. Bailey of Stanley; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Owen Milton and Floyd Franklin Bailey and two sisters, Bertha Dovel and Louise Stanley.
Burial was in the Leake's Chapel Cemetery in Stanley.
