Laura Pearl Dye Services Held
Funeral services for Laura Pearl Dye, 87, Kansas City, formerly of Ava, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clinkingbeard Chapel with the Rev. Robert Roberts officiating. Burial was in Ava Cemetery.
A resident of Kansas City for the past six years, Mrs. Dye passed away at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25 in a private care home following a sudden illness. She was a housewife and a member of Oak Grove General Baptist Church, Wasola.
Born Aug. 10, 1902, at Chanute, Kan. she was the daughter of William and Victoria (Steeves) Meharry. She married Gorman G.E. Dye on July 15, 1922 at Sapulpa, Okla., and he preceded her in death July 1, 1976.
Survivors include two sons, Gorman E. Dye, Jr., Kansas City, and Richard Dye, Ava, two brothers, Clarence Meharry, Atchinson, Kan., and Ralph Meharry, Owatta, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Collect, Chantute, Kan.; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
