Mary Louisa Pope Hancock, 46, died Tuesday January 20, 2009 from heart complications, surrounded by her family and friends.

Louisa was the beloved daughter of Mary and Kerney Hayes. She was born February 4, 1962 in Norfolk, VA.

She was an outgoing child who loved dance and participating in Girl Scouts. She was an avid gardener who loved her flowers.

She was the only sister to four brothers, Lewis, Thomas, Michael and Steven.

On June 8, 1983 she married James Michael Hancock. They had two sons, Brian and Kevin. They were members of North Wake Baptist Church in Wake Forest. The family resided in Wake Forest up until recently.

One of the highlights of her life was the day her granddaughter Kailey was born. Kailey brought much joy to her granny's life.

Louisa loved giving and doing for her friends and family. She was an organ donor. She lived for the Lord and enjoyed reading his word. She will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Michael Hancock.
