Annie Mae Adams was born 19 July 1901 in Hopkins Co., TX to Albert Sidney and Emma Phillips Adams, the second oldest of 10 children. She married 18 Dec 1921 to Will Kirk in Trinity Co. TX. The family lived in Angelina Co., TX until Will's death in 1940. During WWII she moved to Houston to work in the ship yard and later as a seamstress at the Fashion and Battlesteins. She married, 2nd to Elmer Everett Brown 21 Dec 1950. She retired from Armour Packing Co. in Houston in the early 1960s. After Elmer's death in 1979 she moved back to Burke. She was the mother of six children: Avis, Arthur, Clarice, A.D., Nobye Joyce and Loudene. She was a member of Mt. Houston Baptist Church in Houston.
