From the Sullivan County Democrat DOWN THE DECADES in an issue printed Tuesday January 15 2013 pg 12A:

"1923 - Fred Dedlin, the Delaware plumber, has made arrangements with his father-in-law, Henry Chelius, whereby he will develop the latter's 16 acres on Delaware Heights into building lots and bungalows. He has secured a gravity water supply from the Menges Farm, now owned by Louis Layman, with a bountiful never failing spring as the source. The location of these lots, on the south side of the Beechwoods Road in Jeffersonville, is an ideal one for residences and cottages."

from nyshistoricnewspapers.org SULLIVAN COUNTY RECORD Aug 11 1932 page 5: "Henry Chelius a native and life long resident of Jeffersonville died at his home on Beechwoods Road Friday night Aug 5 of arterial sclerosis. He was 78.
Born on the Heidt place 2 miles below Jeffersonville Dec 28 1854 son of Casper and Elizabeth Damm natives of Germany.
LAter moved to the Hasenpflue farm and still later bought property now owned by Henry Heubner at the foot of Beechwoods Road.
He married Henrietta Stengel of Jeffersonville, NY.
5 children born to them - 3 survive along with the widow - Charlotte wife of William F Staib of Woodhaven, L I., Fred of New York and Libbie wife of Fred Dedlin at home. Also 1 sister - Mary wife of Victor Staib of Brooklyn.
He was Town of Delaware assessor, and aCharter member of the Kollikoon Tribe for Red Men."
